DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! Very general information - no specifics.

I am an aspiring voiceover artist and I bought this book to help me find new ways to promote and build my business. When I first started reading this book, there were several red flags that caused me to question the legitimacy. One, it is self-published. Two, it has too many grammatical and sentence structure errors that made reading clunky at times. This book needed to be sent to a editor/proofreader before being released. Three, the author is constantly proclaiming how successful he has been, but rarely gives full details about how he did things. In one example, he says he uses Craig'sList.com to get voiceover work, but he never tells what he did on the website. Four, there were several examples in the book where the author openly made claims about something, but admitted that he couldn't find any statistics or facts to support his claims. You would expect that a successful voice actor with his experience would speak consistently with a level of authoritativeness. But too often he uses ambiguous language that makes him sound unconfident. This book is more a tribute to his success than giving step by step instructions on how to replicate his success. Page 37 is almost entirely dedicated to promoting his website. If I were to sum up this book, it is a promotional tool for his business. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!

Very good information for aspiring VO talent

First, realize that as the author states, this is a transcript of a podcast or webinar or something to that affect. This is not a professional level, edited, ebook; HOWEVER, the content is VERY good. I actually struggled to put it down and to some extent enjoyed the transcripty style. It seemed to retain a more personal feel (like Bills videos) than your standard "how to" book.
This kindle covers a lot of ground relative to breaking into VO. Bill uses his experience to help guide prospective VO talent down a winning path to their own business. I learned something in every section that will help me a great deal. There were a couple work flow tips that will save me 100's of times the cost of this kindle.
What I like most is that Bill Dewees really does a good job of sort of engraving in your mind whats required to be successful in VO. He makes it clear; no magic, no short cuts, lots of work, and a great career if you can be persistent.

If you are aspiring to break into VO or are a VO talent that is finding that you are not growing your business then this kindle is a great place to start.

Bring Your Own Enthusiasm

Bill is very well known in the industry as someone that's walked the walk. He's built up his business in a modern environment, which makes his experience even more relevant to those trying to get a foot hold in todays marketplace. The book is well written and full of great information; you bring the hard work and the enthusiasm and this guide, combined with Bill's YouTube Channel will give you all the tools you need to turn hard work into an income. It's not a get rich quick scheme, it's a set of tried and tested practices, that will provide you with a career to build on. Don't be fooled by thinking it's easy, there simply is no substitute for getting out there and working hard (notice how many time I mention this!), but if you have the desire to make it happen, this book will remove the trial and error, and help you to create your own "good luck".
