My Boys love it! Excellent Series to Boost Reading Comprehension!

I read a lot of reviews about this series and thought it would be a great way to help with reading comprehension for my boys. My oldest is great at math, but his reading comprehension needs some work.
My boys are almost 6 and 8 years old, and they love this series! My husband and I read to them almost every night and sometimes it takes effort on our part. This series has made reading before bed something that my kids really look forward to now. My oldest is readying along with me and let's me know when I've missed a word. :)
"What's the next case mommy?" They love it! It's teaching them to pay more attention to the story to see if they can figure out how Encyclopedia solved the case. I've very happy I found this series from Donald Sobol and I highly recommend it!

Each story is short so this book is easy to pick up and put down

My 8 year old absolutely loves these! I admit my son loves reading so I buy books on here from time to time and offer them as rewards and he quickly got hooked on these books. I remember how much I loved these books so I took a chance he might as well and they were a hit. The stories are a little dated but not so much that he can't follow along. The stories are clever, have a puzzle element to them (as you try to figure out how Encyclopedia solved the mystery) and each story is short so this book is easy to pick up and put down. Each book has about 10 stories in each one. Even though he finished the first 3 books I already did see him pick the first book back up again and re-read some of the stories which is a very good sign.

Son loved these!

Bought these books for my 6 yr old son. Although the stories are dated (written in the 70s I think), my son doesn't notice and highly enjoys reading about a kid not too far from his age doing great things in the midst of grown ups. The words are easy for him to read and sound out as he progresses. The chapters are also perfect length for reading right before bed time. I need to get some more!!! Definitely recommend. Also price is worth it.
